Centrepointe is in the ‘College Ward’ of Ottawa’s west end. The area was developed in 1984 and was previously farmland. The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation purchased this land, then most of the land was sold off. The housing in this neighbourhood includes mainly detached homes, with the remainder consisting of row houses and terrace homes.


Centrepointe is a rather culturally diverse area. It mainly consists of middle aged and older families. Many residents are University or College graduates. Quite a few residents are also students, this is due to the proximity of Algonquin College and Baseline bus station, which offers bus routes to Carleton University and the University of Ottawa.


Centrepointe is popular for their amazing theatre, the Centrepointe park, the Library and having a ton of amenities nearby.
