Surrey is a city in British Columbia within the Metro Vancouver regional district and metropolitan area. It is a suburban city with the 2nd largest population in British Columbia. There are seven neighbourhoods in Surrey; Fleetwood, Whalley, City Centre, Guildford, Newton, Cloverdale and South Surrey.

Immigration has drastically increased in the area since the 1980s, this has led to an ethnically and linguistically diverse city.
